10 Tips: Choose My Plate Cooking Class

Students will learn about USDA's MyPlate and some easy steps to follow the latest Dietary Guideline for Americans. Classes will provide participants with the knowledge they need to choose and prepare healthy foods and beverages on a limited budget. Food demonstrations and tastings will be provided at each session. Topics will include "Focus on Fruits", "Vary Your Veggies", Make 1/2 Your Grains Whole Grains", and "Vary Your Protein Routine".

AKC Star Puppy Class

The AKC Star Puppy class is for puppies 10 weeks to 11 months of age. In class you will be able to get all your puppy training questions answered along with learning basic training skills such as walking nicely on a leash, sit, down and come when called. After attending all 6 classes the Star puppy test will be administered and upon passing your puppy will receive a new title and certificate. All puppies are welcome including mixed breeds.

Canine Good Citizen Class

This class is for dogs 11 months of age and over. Dogs should know their basic obedience skills. This class will help prepare teams for the test which will be administered during the 4th class. The test consists of 10 steps that evaluates a dog's basic good manners at home and out in the community.

Chinese Language and Culture

Learn some basic words and sentences in Mandarin Chinese, including greetings, common questions and answers. Learn useful phrases for travelers. You will also learn about Chinese life and culture through stories, photos, art, artifacts and a trip to a Chinese restaurant.

Join instructor, Jenny Huang-Dale on this armchair traveler's guide to Chinese language and culture. This class will take place at the Fryeburg Public Library.

Computers for Beginners

If you've never used computers or have had very little experience with them, this class is for you! You will be introduced to a mouse, keyboard, touch screen, monitor and common terminology so you can talk the talk. Then you will be shown how to take care of your computer and avoid things that could harm your computer or invade your privacy. You'll learn to use your computer for such things as making folders, writing letters, browsing the web and using email and Facebook.

eBooks & Audiobooks from the NEW cloudLibrary ~ Brownfield

On March 1, 2017, the Maine InfoNet Download Library moved to a brand new e-Book and e-Audiobook platform called cloudLibrary. This will replace the Overdrive platform used previously. 

Would you like some help downloading and understanding the new platform? Bring your device and learn how to download electronic books and audiobooks. You will need a current email address and a library card.

Please call the Brownfield Library at 207-935-3003 or stop by the library to sign up.  There is only room for 4 people per session.  If there is enough demand we will add more classes.
