Beginner Crocheting

Come to this class and learn the art of crocheting! We will learn the most basic of crochet stitches.

All you need is enthusiasm, a size 8 or H crochet hook, a skein of Lily Sugar ‘N Cream 100 cotton yarn or any cotton 4 ply yarn, and the desire to learn the fine art of crocheting.

When was the last time you sat and colored with a box of crayons...on fabric? We will use crayons and learn to blend colors for a more realistic and permanent design technique with multiple applications. There will be 4 different vintage floral designs ( or 2 seasonal pumpkin designs) from which to choose in class for your project. We will also discuss finishing, thread painting and embellishment techniques for your very own creative touches at home. Finished size is approximately 14” square. Students will need to bring; 1-24 count box of Crayola crayons # 2 lead pencil Ultra-fine black sharpie marker

Dimensional Holiday Snowflake Ornaments

Add a festive flair to your holiday by creating these easy and intriguing dimensional snowflake ornaments. Learn to fuse fabric to poster board, cutting it into strips, weave and glue them together and embellish them as desired for a simple yet effective holiday decoration. Hang them on your holiday tree or use them as adornments to your gift packages. Once you learn the technique, you’ll want to explore the possibilities of differing sizes and fabric combinations. This class is suitable to all skill levels and a fun and relaxing way to usher in the holidays. Students will need to bring: Glue gun with several extra glue sticks Heat resistant rubber finger protectors or heat resistant gloves (if you have them) Shrp utility scissors Small rotary cutting mat with rotary cutter and ruler.

The inspiration for these unique earrings made from nature is our instructor’s Native American grandmother. Using wood bark, pine cones, moss, rocks and sterling silver wire enjoy creating easy one of a kind nature inspired piece of jewelry! Look at nature a whole new way and learn the techniques inspire your creativity. Students need to bring: Jewelry pliers and jewelry cutters ( there will be some to share at class, also)

Face It You Can Draw!

So you think you can’t draw? Think again! This class will use simple exercises to train your brain to perceive things in a different way. The ultimate goal of this class is to draw portraits. This class will be centered around drawing portraits from life and photos. Students should bring sketch pads, and 2B-4B pencils to class. Recommended reading for class “Drawing on The Right Side of the Brain”

Fun and Learning With Essential Oils

Intermediate Crocheting

This class is for all those who know the basic crochet stitches. We will create a holiday garland, hanging mitten tree ornament, or mittens for children. All are simple to make! All you need is enthusiasm, a size 4 and a size 6 crochet hook and one skein of 3 ply yarn or sports weight yarn.

Are you a novice seamstress? Do you ever see a pattern and think “ I would love to make that?” You bring your own sewing machines, sewing supplies and a simple pattern. Our talented instructor, Jane Leonard will lead you through the sewing process to help you complete the pattern. She will help take the intimidation out of sewing for you!
