Behavioral Health Professional Certification Training
with Woodford Family Services
We are looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life. A Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential.
Children’s Behavioral Health Services are vital to Maine’s children with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health Disorders and their families and we are excited to connect our community with Woodfords Family Service for this wonderful ONLINE training program.
This online training will equip you to successfully help children who are currently on a wait list for services and become an integral part of a child’s treatment team. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies. You can start at any time and finish at your own pace. You will complete 12 online modules then (3) 4-hour live sessions, including the new ethics and boundaries training. Once the modules are completed, you will receive free online blood borne pathogen training and virtual First Aid & CPR training if you do not already possess those certifications. The entire training requirements will take about 45 hours. Any individual who will be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course may register.

140 Classroom Hours w/ a Clinical Externship
For students who want to prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career in healthcare. This program trains students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Instruction includes preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle. Includes hands-on labs and a clinical externship opportunity at a local healthcare provider. To be eligible for clinical rotation, students must successfully complete the 140-hour program, submit to a thorough background check, drug screening and meet other requirements. Note: Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination.

CNA Interest List

CNAs are caregivers who provide patients assistance with activities of daily living and basic needs. They also help patients feel safe and comfortable throughout their hospital stay. These direct caregivers spend most of their time assisting patients and listening to their concerns.
This is a class, laboratory, and clinical component course that will prepare the student to take the Maine State Board of Nursing (MSBoN) CNA examination. The course is 180 hours spanning over 20 weeks. Most meeting days are on Saturday, with some Tuesday afternoon/evenings as well. You must attend all sessions. Our clinical partners are Norway Health and Rehabilitation Center and Bridgton Hospital.

College Prep Math--Blended Learning
with Academic Instructor
Our blended learning, pre-college math class is designed for students who want to brush up on their math skills or seek to boost their ACCUPLACER scores for college entry. This course will review arithmetic, including factoring, fractions, percentages, and word problems. Students will also review algebra concepts, statistics, and probability. Students have time for practicing skills and asking questions. Blended learning opportunities offer a combination of online learning and live instruction to help provide the most flexibility for students seeking to further their education.

College Prep Reading and Writing
with Academic Instructor
This course will focus on preparing students for reading and writing at the college level as measured by the ACCUPLACER post-secondary placement exam. Written assignments and readings will be analyzed and assessed in one-on-one sessions with the instructor. Students will discover comprehension skills and reading strategies to understand college texts of different types. They will write short essays from different rhetorical modes and learn how to edit their writing by applying the conventions of grammar and mechanics. The connection of reading and writing will be emphasized.

Conquer Your Mac Photos App: Edit Your Images
with BoomerTECH Adventures, with Maine educators Jill Spencer, Chris Toy, and Ed Brazee
Over exposed image? No problem—adjust the exposure in editing mode. Wish your photo could be black and white instead of color? Choose a filter and change the ambiance of your image. Does the main object of your picture seem lost among extraneous details? Use the cropping feature to focus your viewer’s eye on the most important part of the image. These examples are just a few of the many ways you can turn an average image into something special. Have fun editing your pictures with the many options in your Mac’s Photos app. This course includes five primary videos: Know the Icons you’ll need for editing; learn how to Crop your photos; apply Filters and Markup, and two videos of various Adjustments, like exposure, highlights, and brightness and more. Other course resources include support guides for each video all focused on understanding and using your Mac to edit your images. BoomerTECH Adventures also provides email support before, during, and after the class. The course package contains all the materials you need: Tips for Getting Started, and summaries of each of the instructional videos, a list of all course resources (videos and printed articles). All resources are accessible from the course booklet. Students will need a strong internet connection and a Mac computer, iPad, or iPhone to access videos and articles.
Cooking With BoomerTECH Adventures
with BoomerTech Adventures with Maine educators Jill Spencer, Chris Toy, and Ed Brazee
In this online, self-paced course, BoomerTECH Adventures guides Chris, Jill, and Ed share their love of cooking and enjoyment for lots of different types of foods. You will learn how to prepare several tasty stir fries using traditional Chinese flavorings, make fresh pasta, turn leftover sweet potato into gnocchi, stir up a great fried rice, and give ramen soup a delicious upgrade. In addition, discover an easy way to make your own pita pockets, flat breads, and tortillas. Plus, you will see a way to combine the benefits of cooking on cast iron with your love of grilling. We haven’t forgotten dessert! Who can resist a delectable chocolate brownie torte or apple pie?
