In a medical emergency, would you know what to do? We'll cover splinting, control bleeding, shock, environmental emergencies, choking emergencies, breathing problems, chest compressions (CPR), and how to use an Automated Electronic Defibrillator (AED). Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.

CNAs are caregivers who provide patients assistance with activities of daily living and basic needs. They also help patients feel safe and comfortable throughout their hospital stay. These direct caregivers spend most of their time assisting patients and listening to their concerns.

The State of Maine approved CNA course includes classroom work, skills labs, and clinical experience. This is a 20-week, 180 hour course: 110 classroom hours (Saturdays) and 70 clinical hours (Saturdays and evenings). Our course includes additional academic support for those who need or want it. At the successful completion of the course, students take the State Certification Examination. Course cost includes the State Certification Examination and cost of the background check.

Admission process includes scheduling an orientation appointment to complete application materials and required reading assessment. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalency (or be working towards their diploma). Immunizations and background checks are required.

Please call for an orientation appointment, which must be scheduled on or before 12/15/19 to secure your registration.

Classroom sessions are from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. on Saturdays and some Tuesdays from 4-8 PM.

The Phlebotomist is a vital member of the clinical laboratory team who obtains a patient’s blood specimens by venipuncture and micro collection for testing purposes. Phlebotomists are employed across the healthcare system. Classroom and clinical experience at Bridgton Hospital includes medical terminology, blood collection, procedures, specimen hands-on practice, and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. Learners must produce documentation of a recent medical physical examination conducted and signed by a physician, and the following vaccinations: Hepatitis B, MMR, Tetanus, Varicella, and TB.

Class includes the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam.

10 week Certificate program in Dental Assisting for one of the most high-demand careers.  This program is designed to teach all aspects of dental assisting and provide you the skills you need to work in this field and pass a national certificate exam and earn CPR certification. This program is taught by a Dentist and includes an opportunity for internships. The price of the course includes all books, exam preparation materials and fees for the DANB RHS® and CPR certificate program. Upon passing the DANB RHS®, you will receive a certificate of knowledge based on competency for that component from DANB. Payment plans available.  $2400
