Putting the Literacy in Financial Literacy: Book Club with FAME

Join FAME's College Savings Counselor, Maire Pelletier, in exploring Girls that Invest by Simran Kaur. This course is a great introduction to investing. All experience levels are welcome! (For general education purposes only, and should not be used as legal, tax, or financial advice.). Book synopsis: Your step-by-step guide to financial independence - from the creator of the #1 investing education podcast, Girls That Invest. Ever wondered how on Earth the stock market works, but felt too intimidated to ask "those" questions? This is the book for you! Scholarships can go a long way in helping students cover college costs, but being successful in the scholarship application process can take some work. In this session you'll learn to build and work your own scholarship application plan. You'll also learn about and try out different scholarship websites, learn how to best use a scholarship information tracker, and learn to avoid some of the challenges the scholarship process. Students and parents interested in learning about the scholarship process can join Jessica Whittier, College Access Counselor with the Finance Authority of Maine for this 1-hour workshop as we talk scholarships.

Yes, you CAN do it on your own! Learn how to tap into readily available resources to turn your words into a published book. This might even lead you to scheduling speaking engagements. Getting your own book published can give you a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. Preethi has published 15 books, and is both a speaker and instructor. She will teach you how to comfortably turn your words into works of art.
