We welcome you to this information session where we will review the classroom components at Lake Region and Fryeburg Area Adult Education and the clinical experience at Bridgton Hospital, payment plans and resources for financial assistance, and complete the registration paperwork. 

Phlebotomy class eligibility includes being age 18+, holding a high school diploma, and a 239 CASAS score. Those with a Bachelor's degree do not need to take the CASAS. 

This class walks you through the process of creating an online account. We also discuss how to recover your password should you forget it, what the potential issues are for privacy and safety, and how to best navigate those issues. No devises are required, just bring yourself.

With online content, we have a constant flow of information as well as misinformation. In this class we will look at ways to determine "real" news from "fake" news and then discover how to find the news and information you want using Blogs, Podcasts, online publications, and much more. Learn about the basics of Microsoft Excel. In this class we will learn about data entry, cell formatting, and the basics of Formulas.

Yes, you CAN do it on your own! Learn how to tap into readily available resources to turn your words into a published book. This might even lead you to scheduling speaking engagements. Getting your own book published can give you a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. Preethi has published 15 books, and is both a speaker and instructor. She will teach you how to comfortably turn your words into works of art.

An easy to understand and non-technical class on the open AI program, Chat GPT. This course includes the many ways it can help you, such as saving time, and offering varied ways to word your thoughts, thus improving your communications and productivity. You will learn some of the many uses of Chat GPT, how to create your own account, and how to manipulate prompts to get targeted and productive results. Through this online, one-hour class, you will realize the many benefits of Chat GPT for your own varied uses- both at work and in your personal life. Simply sit back and follow the class for personal enrichment and professional development. Working professionals can apply this towards their professional development credit.

In this one-hour training, MSAD 61 staff will review the requirements for becoming a substitute teacher in MSAD 61 and how to get on the substitute list; professional expectations and best practices for substitute teachers; what to expect at the various schools in the district; and some district policy and legal information. Participants who complete this training are eligible to receive an additional $10 per day in substitute pay, and this includes current substitutes!

Classroom and clinical experience include medical terminology, blood collection, procedures, specimen hands-on practice, and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. Class includes the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Phlebotomist Technician (CPT) exam. Clinical experience for this class is held at Bridgton Hospital in Bridgton, Maine. Learners are required to pre-register through attendance at an in-person information session. Learners provide documentation of a recent medical physical examination conducted and signed by a physician, and the following vaccinations: COVID 19, Seasonal Flu, Hepatitis B, MMR, Tetanus, Varicella, and TB, before starting clinicals. Class size is limited.
