Compt TiA/A+ IT Microcredential Training

This valuable industry recognized micro-credential certification is a 3-part process. Students complete IC3 level and CompTiA/A+ certification, along with a 20 hour internship after passing the exams for each section. This course is offered FREE to eligible applicants. Priority is being given to Cumberland County Residents who ALSO meet the low/moderate income guidelines. 

Those students who have completed and passed the IC3 exams may register. Those who have not taken the class may opt to take the 3 exams FREE if they meet eligibility requirements, pending instructor approval.  

There will be an information session mid-September for interested students who will be contacted with the date when scheduled. You may register for this information session by clicking here. Class size is limited, so register for the information session soon.     

Comp TiA Part 1-  Introduction to PC Repair   8 week session  

Begins: 10 - 5 - 11/3 (no classes Thanksgiving week)  

Tuesdays, 5:30 - 8:00 

Cost:  Free, including certification exams. Class size limited to 8 students  

Comp TiA Part 2-Advanced PC Repair -  8 week session  

Begins: 3/1 - 4/25 (no classes week of 4/18/April vacation) 

Tuesdays, 5:30 - 8:00 

Cost:  Free, including certification exams. Class size limited to 8 students. 

Tuesday classes are live instruction where you will work directly with the instructor to complete the required curriculum. Online instruction is also required, and all students are expected to complete all assigned independent instruction, which will take an additional 4 - 6 hours per week.

The Phlebotomist is a vital member of the clinical laboratory team who obtains a patient’s blood specimens by venipuncture and micro collection for testing purposes. Phlebotomists are employed across the healthcare system. Classroom and clinical experience at Bridgton Hospital includes medical terminology, blood collection, procedures, specimen hands-on practice, and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. Learners must produce documentation of a recent medical physical examination conducted and signed by a physician, and the following vaccinations: Hepatitis B, MMR, Tetanus, Varicella, and TB.

We are looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life. A Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential.

Children’s Behavioral Health Services are vital to Maine’s children with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health Disorders and their families and we are excited to connect our community with Woodfords Family Service for this wonderful ONLINE training program.

This online training will equip you to successfully help children who are currently on a wait list for services and become an integral part of a child’s treatment team. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies. You can start at any time and finished at your own pace.You will complete 12 online modules then (3) 4-hour live sessions, including the new ethics and boundaries training. Once the modules are completed, you will receive free online blood borne pathogen training and virtual First Aid & CPR training if you do not already possess those certifications. The entire training requirements will take about 45 hours.Any individual who will be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course may register.There is a one-time administration fee of $25

The Lake Region Adult Ed class will start Saturday February 27, 2021 and run for 23 weeks at our facility on the Lake Region High School campus.

A high school diploma is required to enter this class. 

Both Lake Region Adult and and Gray/New Gloucester Adult Ed will be offering CCMA courses after the first of the year. This program trains students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. For students who want to prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career in healthcare, this may be the opportunity you are waiting for. CCMA students will find great employment opportunities in our area.

Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination.
