An American Banking Association Certified Course

Have you ever thought of banking as a career? Do you think you don't have the skills necessary? Successfully complete all components of this 7-week course and you'll learn about the banking basics required, the workplace math skills necessary for success, tips on interviewing skills and preparing your resume. You'll also receive a Today's Teller certificate from the American Banking Association, a designation that is recognized nationally by banks and other financial companies.

Taught by professionals from TD Bank, Norway Savings, and Key bank, these local banking facilitators will help you learn what you need to gain an advantage in the employment process by earning a certificate from the American Banking Association. The certificate is a real advantage in the job seeking process. The workplace math skills will be in an online format and supported by our adult education academic instructor. Mock interviews will be held on-site at Norway Savings Bank.

Certified Residential Medication Assistant Recertification

This one day, eight-hour, class provides the Certified Residential Medication Assistant (CRMA) with the necessary refresher required by the State of Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to successfully pass the required examination to complete their biennial recertification requirement. The student will work in the classroom setting and be required to also administer medications to residents. Proof of current CRMA is required to take this course.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support and First Aid

The participant will receive training in Basic Life Support (BLS) as presented by the American Heart Association (AHA) by a certified AHA Instructor. The targeted participant is a healthcare provider. This course will also include AHA First Aid Training. The student will be performing physical activities in a simulated setting on the floor of the classroom. Participants will receive a two-year certification in BLS/First Aid upon successful completion of this course. This is an eight-hour course.

This course builds upon the foundational knowledge presented in the Microsoft® Office Excel® 2016: Part 1 course and will help start you down the road to creating advanced workbooks and worksheets that can help deepen your understanding of organizational intelligence. The ability to analyze massive amounts of data, extract actionable information from it, and present that information to decision makers is at the foundation of a successful organization that is able to compete at a high level. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to leverage the power of data analysis and presentation in order to make informed, intelligent organizational decisions. You will: -Work with functions. -Work with lists. -Analyze data. -Visualize data with charts. -Use PivotTables and Pivot Charts. Everyone can do some yoga, and, with very little instruction, you can begin to practice your focus on breath and holding postures.

Calendar Feb 6, 2021 at 8 am, runs for 20 weeks

CNAs are caregivers who provide patients assistance with activities of daily living and basic needs. They also help patients feel safe and comfortable throughout their hospital stay. These direct caregivers spend most of their time assisting patients and listening to their concerns.

 

The State of Maine approved CNA course includes classroom work, skills labs, and clinical experience. This is a 20-week, 180-hour course: 110 classroom hours (Saturdays) and 70 clinical hours (Saturdays and evenings). Our course includes additional academic support for those who need or want it. At the successful completion of the course, students take the State Certification Examination. Course cost includes the State Certification Examination and cost of the background check.

 

Admission process includes scheduling an orientation and interview appointment and to complete application materials and required reading assessment. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalency (or be working towards their diploma). Immunizations and background checks are required.

 

Registration deadline is January 15, 2021. Please call to be placed on our waitlist. Orientation dates will be scheduled individually.
