We all know that buying in bulk saves, but it can be frustrating when we constantly end up wasting half the bag because it ends up going bad before we use it. In this class, learn how to buy in bulk and cook with those items without feeling like you’re eating the same thing over and over again. The instructor will purchase an item in bulk and you will make several recipes with that single item. Walk away with recipes, ideas and confidence of buying in bulk.

When was the last time you sat and colored with a box of crayons...on fabric? We will use crayons and learn to blend colors for a more realistic and permanent design technique with multiple applications. There will be 4 different vintage floral designs ( or 2 seasonal pumpkin designs) from which to choose in class for your project. We will also discuss finishing, thread painting and embellishment techniques for your very own creative touches at home. Finished size is approximately 14” square. Students will need to bring; 1-24 count box of Crayola crayons # 2 lead pencil Ultra-fine black sharpie marker

Cooking Matters™ classes provide a culinary-enhanced nutrition education program that teaches participants how to prepare meals that are healthy, tasty and low in cost. Each lesson engages participants in hands-on meal preparation, practical nutrition tips and food budgeting skills. This class provides participants with the knowledge and skills to make healthy food choices, as well as to prepare healthy meals and snacks on a limited budget. Class highlights include: lessons featuring hands-on learning and recipe preparation, group discussions, tasty food samples, free recipe book, and a bag of groceries to prepare a dish from each week’s class at home.

In a medical emergency, would you know what to do? We'll cover splinting, control bleeding, shock, environmental emergencies, choking emergencies, breathing problems, chest compressions (CPR), and how to use an Automated Electronic Defibrillator (AED). Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.

Whether new to sushi or experienced in making your own, this class is sure to expand your sushi horizons. You’ll learn how to set up your home kitchen for sushi success and the fundamentals of sushi rolling. You’ll be busy making sushi from the start. We’ll cover a range of ideas for featuring raw fish, cooked seafood and veggies; tips for using brown rice; making sushi burritos; and how to plan a complete sushi-themed party with homemade miso soup, seaweed salad and a beautiful display that includes something for everyone. Bring a sharp knife and a large container or two to take your creations home.

Add a festive flair to your holiday by creating these easy and intriguing dimensional snowflake ornaments. Learn to fuse fabric to poster board, cutting it into strips, weave and glue them together and embellish them as desired for a simple yet effective holiday decoration. Hang them on your holiday tree or use them as adornments to your gift packages. Once you learn the technique, you’ll want to explore the possibilities of differing sizes and fabric combinations. This class is suitable to all skill levels and a fun and relaxing way to usher in the holidays. Students will need to bring: Glue gun with several extra glue sticks Heat resistant rubber finger protectors or heat resistant gloves (if you have them) Shrp utility scissors Small rotary cutting mat with rotary cutter and ruler.
