We are looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life. A Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential.

Children’s Behavioral Health Services are vital to Maine’s children with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health Disorders and their families and we are excited to connect our community with Woodfords Family Service for this wonderful ONLINE training program.

This online training will equip you to successfully help children who are currently on a wait list for services and become an integral part of a child’s treatment team. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies. You can start at any time and finish at your own pace. You will complete 12 online modules then (3) 4-hour live sessions, including the new ethics and boundaries training. Once the modules are completed, you will receive free online blood borne pathogen training and virtual First Aid & CPR training if you do not already possess those certifications. The entire training requirements will take about 45 hours. Any individual who will be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course may register.

140 Classroom Hours w/ a Clinical Externship

For students who want to prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career in healthcare. This program trains students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Instruction includes preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle. Includes hands-on labs and a clinical externship opportunity at a local healthcare provider. To be eligible for clinical rotation, students must successfully complete the 140-hour program, submit to a thorough background check, drug screening and meet other requirements. Note: Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination.

CNAs are caregivers who provide patients assistance with activities of daily living and basic needs. They also help patients feel safe and comfortable throughout their hospital stay. These direct caregivers spend most of their time assisting patients and listening to their concerns. 

This is a class, laboratory, and clinical component course that will prepare the student to take the Maine State Board of Nursing (MSBoN) CNA examination. The course is 180 hours spanning over 20 weeks. Most meeting days are on Saturday, with some Tuesday afternoon/evenings as well. You must attend all sessions. Our clinical partners are Norway Health and Rehabilitation Center and Bridgton Hospital.

This course by BoomerTECH Adventures is designed for those who want to develop an online course using Zoom, a video conferencing platform. This course consists of step-by-step videos that explain and demonstrate how to use Zoom as well as appropriate instructional tips to build an engaging online course in any subject. You will learn everything you need to know about Zoom—tools, settings, security, instructional strategies, building community, Zoom tips for instructors and students, and much more. This course includes 13 short videos in three sections: • Preparing to Zoom (Hardware, Software, & Networks; Setting the Environment) • Zoom Settings/Instructional Tools (Zoom Settings on Computer and iPhone & iPad; Building Community; Safety & Security, and; more) • Tips for Instructors/Students (Zoom tips) Other course resources include videos, articles and tip sheets, all focused on understanding and using Zoom to build your own online course. Fortunately, the digital world offers planning and editing supports unavailable in the past. This course will show you how to use these tools and others to unleash your creative self. This course introduces you to a variety of digital tools that support writing your memoir, even if you are a bit uncomfortable writing for an audience. There are seven videos that concentrate on different aspects of the process you will probably use to write your memoir. Each video discusses several helpful digital tools or websites. Expressing one’s thoughts, feelings, and perhaps even secrets is a daunting prospect for most of us. These digital tools will remove some angst about the mechanics of writing and allow you to concentrate on your content and message. Most of us take hundreds of photos that languish on our iPhone/iPad or in the cloud. Knowing how to edit images and organize your photos on your iPhone and iPad is essential. Other areas of study in this online, self-paced course include using the tabs in the Photos app — “For You" tab (ready-made slide shows), creating, using, and sharing albums, and the very useful search function.

Our iPhones/iPads have many time-saving features that allow you to be creative, efficient, and have fun. This online, self-paced course will reveal the "hidden gems" that will show you how to learn advanced features of your iPhone and iPad.
