Students who successfully complete class will meet the graduation requirements for the Freshman Interest Group (SMCC) or the First Year Seminar (CMCC) and will earn a credit towards degree completion.

Calendar Sep 11, 2021 at 8 am, runs for 20 weeks

CNAs are caregivers who provide patients assistance with activities of daily living and basic needs. They also help patients feel safe and comfortable throughout their hospital stay. These direct caregivers spend most of their time assisting patients and listening to their concerns. 

This is a class, laboratory, and clinical component course that will prepare the student to take the Maine State Board of Nursing (MSBoN) CNA examination. The course is 180 hours spanning over 20 weeks. Most meeting days are on Saturday, with some Tuesday afternoon/evenings as well. You must attend all sessions. Our clinical partners are Norway Health and Rehabilitation Center and Bridgton Hospital.

Compt TiA/A+ IT Microcredential Training

Calendar Oct 5, 2021 at 5:30 pm, runs for 16 weeks

This valuable industry recognized micro-credential certification is a 3-part process. Students complete IC3 level and CompTiA/A+ certification, along with a 20 hour internship after passing the exams for each section. This course is offered FREE to eligible applicants. Priority is being given to Cumberland County Residents who ALSO meet the low/moderate income guidelines. 

Those students who have completed and passed the IC3 exams may register. Those who have not taken the class may opt to take the 3 exams FREE if they meet eligibility requirements, pending instructor approval.  

There will be an information session mid-September for interested students who will be contacted with the date when scheduled. You may register for this information session by clicking here. Class size is limited, so register for the information session soon.     

Comp TiA Part 1-  Introduction to PC Repair   8 week session  

Begins: 10 - 5 - 11/3 (no classes Thanksgiving week)  

Tuesdays, 5:30 - 8:00

Tuesday classes are live instruction where you will work directly with the instructor to complete the required curriculum. Online instruction is also required, and all students are expected to complete all assigned independent instruction, which will take an additional 4 - 6 hours per week.

Calendar Oct 9, 2021 at 9 am, runs for 11 weeks

The Phlebotomist is a vital member of the clinical laboratory team who obtains a patient’s blood specimens by venipuncture and micro collection for testing purposes. Phlebotomists are employed across the healthcare system. Classroom and clinical experience at Bridgton Hospital includes medical terminology, blood collection, procedures, specimen hands-on practice, and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. Learners must produce documentation of a recent medical physical examination conducted and signed by a physician, and the following vaccinations: Hepatitis B, MMR, Tetanus, Varicella, and TB.
