"Cutting the Cord" - Getting TV & Phone Services Over the Internet

What does it mean to "Cut the Cord"? It's about canceling cable or satellite services and being able to watch television shows online, as well as options that would allow you to get rid of your landline. This class will not only show you the wide variety of options out there, but also teach you some tools to decide if cutting the cord is right for you.
Adulting 101: Money Starts

Adulting is tough. Finances can be one of the trickiest parts of adulthood. Whether you’ve been Adulting for decades or are just getting started, banking basics, spending plans, credit scores and useful tools and apps are available to make the whole Adulting thing a little bit easier. Join Steve Kautz from the Finance Authority of Maine for this 1-hour virtual workshop as we dive into some adulting money basics together.
Crystal Healing Hands On
with Donna Shaw
This is a hands-on class to learn about the uses of crystals, how to use these healing gifts from the earth to heal and balance the body, and for protection, manifesting and grounding. Students will learn about the most commonly used crystals in crystal healing, their properties and uses. Students will also learn about crystal elixirs; elixir safety and practice doing a chakra/aura healing crystal grid on each other and learn a manifesting crystal grid to practice at home. Includes: Class materials and a take home crystal.
Lab fee: $50 for one or $90 for two, to be paid directly to the instructor on the first day of class. Speak to instructor about payment options.

Maine Driving Dynamics
with Maine Driving Dynamics Instructor
This is a 2 night class, you must be present at both classes to get the credit.
The Maine Driving Dynamics course is a driver improvement course that is aimed to improve a student’s defensive driving awareness and abilities. This five-hour course includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. Our goal is to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce vehicle-related crashes. The course may be taken for point reduction only once every 365 days. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record.
MSAD 61 Substitute Teacher Training

In this one-hour training, MSAD 61 staff will review the requirements for becoming a substitute teacher in MSAD 61 and how to get on the substitute list; professional expectations and best practices for substitute teachers; what to expect at the various schools in the district; and some district policy and legal information. Participants who complete this training are eligible to receive an additional $10 per day in substitute pay, and this includes current substitutes!

National Service Through AmeriCorps: Informational Session

This informative workshop will provide attendees with all the information they need to enter National Service through the AmeriCorps program.
AmeriCorps is the program whereby citizens can Make A Difference in their community by enrolling tolend their energy and ability to advance a well thought out project and program. AmeriCorps membersreceive a stipend, fully paid health benefit (full time) and an education award that can be applied to anypost-secondary school tuition/fees. Member terms are full or part time and there are manyopportunities available, including the Augusta area.

The workshop will be led by Roy Gedat who recently retired from a career leading non-profitorganizations, elected political service, and state/federal advocacy and is proud to call Maine his homefor over 40 years.
His experience and interests led him to many years of volunteer service to the Norway Historical Society,Maine’s Long Term Care Ombudsman and many other endeavors. Most recently he has been serving as aTrustee of the Maine Long Term Care Ombudsmen Program and begun a second term in AmeriCorps.

In our fourth ravioli class we’ll be making portobello mushroom ravioli with a fresh sage brown butter sauce. Filled with portobello mushrooms, a little prosciutto, and of course some cheese! As always, making good ravioli starts with the dough. You’ll learn how to tell when the dough is perfect for making these yummy pillows that will delight the tongue and tummy! Bring a small container to bring a few home!
