Introduction to Spanish-in-person
with Meredith Morehouse

Learn the basic structure of the Spanish language, including simple grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation—the building blocks of conversation. Classes will be interactive and taught in English and Spanish. Along the way you’ll learn about the culture, music, food, and whatever else interests you about Latin American countries or Spain! Specific content will be tailored to your Spanish language needs (e.g., for travel, work, new friends/family, school, or a fun new challenge).
Students should bring notebooks, pens and laptop/tablet (optional)
Maine Driving Dynamics

If you are 65 or older please sign up for "Maine Driving Dynamics for Seniors"
This is a 2 night class, you must be present at both classes to get the credit.
The Maine Driving Dynamics course is a driver improvement course that is aimed to improve a student’s defensive driving awareness and abilities. This five-hour course includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. Our goal is to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce vehicle-related crashes. The course may be taken for point reduction only once every 365 days. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record.

Learn how to make delicious spinach and cheese ravioli! It’s easy, and it starts with the dough. Your instructor will show you how to achieve the perfect dough to make ravioli. She’ll teach you how to make the filling during class and help you practice assembling these scrumptious little pillows of delight! All students will be provided with some dough so that everyone will have what they need to make their own ravioli to enjoy! Bring a container to take home your heavenly raviolis!

Cooking Matters™ classes provide a culinary-enhanced nutrition education program that teaches participants how to prepare meals that are healthy, tasty and low in cost. Each lesson engages participants in hands-on meal preparation, practical nutrition tips and food budgeting skills. This class provides participants with the knowledge and skills to make healthy food choices, as well as to prepare healthy meals and snacks on a limited budget. Class highlights include: lessons featuring hands-on learning and recipe preparation, group discussions, tasty food samples, free recipe book, and a bag of groceries to prepare a dish from each week’s class at home.
