Relaxing Reiki Rays

Experience and learn the art of Reiki. In the first half of this session, you will experience the peace and calm of Reiki in a meditative state. You will destress and gain awareness of mental health. Unplugging for a few minutes a day is a transformative practice in being a more fulfilled person, giving you energy and focus. During the second half of the evening you will be provided with note-taking materials and learn basic techniques in how a Reiki I practitioner works on relaxing and healing themselves, others and their pets, followed by an overview of what a Reiki practitioner can accomplish. You will learn the benefits of becoming a Reiki Master. Wear comfortable clothes, and bring water, a blanket or throw, a pillow, and if possible a yoga mat.

Topics will include course titles, course descriptions, lesson plans, engaging your audience, price points, and whether your course should be a one-off or sequence. You may find yourself proposing a course with Lake Region and Fryeburg Area Adult Education for the next or a future semester!
Beginners Earring Making Workshop

Welcome to the fun and creative world of beginner earring making! In this class, you will learn the basics of creating your own unique earrings from scratch. No prior experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to try something new! You'll be introduced to various earring making tools, techniques, and materials while learning how to design and assemble your very own dangles. By the end of class, you will have a collection of handmade earrings to show off or gift to friends and family. Unleash your inner jewelry designer and add a personal touch to your accessories! You'll pick from a variety of beads, allowing for complete customization. You'll leave with a tools and materials list including where to buy, and of course, your earrings! What to expect: Each participant will create 2-3 pairs of dangles. All materials and supplies will be provided: supplies & materials fee: $20 to be paid directly to the instructor on the first day of class.

Phlebotomy Technician

The phlebotomist is a vital member of the clinical laboratory team who obtains patient blood specimens by venipuncture and micro collection for testing purposes. Phlebotomists are employed across the health care system. Classroom and clinical experience include medical terminology, blood collection, procedures, specimen hands-on practice, and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. Class includes the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Phlebotomist Technician (CPT) exam. Clinical experience for this class is held at Bridgton Hospital in Bridgton, Maine. Learners are required to pre-register through attendance at an in-person information session. Learners provide documentation of a recent medical physical examination conducted and signed by a physician, and the following vaccinations: COVID 19, Seasonal Flu, Hepatitis B, MMR, Tetanus, Varicella, and TB, before starting clinicals. Class size is limited.
