Let's Sketch! (part two)

Calendar Nov 6, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 5 weeks

This is the sequel you have been waiting for (if you took Let’s Sketch part 1) This class introduces the use of color media as well as other sketching tools. You will explore several uses for sketching, including journaling. Again, beginners or avid sketchers will discover easy and effective sketching skills to stir your creativity. Classes include guided instruction and exercises. Let’s Sketch is recommended, but not required to take this class.  A required materials list will be distributed by the instructor at start of class.

Life In Pieces

 Cutting fabric into pieces and putting it back together again is what quilters do best.  Learning to read and blend fabric pattern and colors into beautiful landscapes is just like doing a puzzle.  This popular class utilizes fused techniques to complete your own original 5 X 7 framed mini wooded landscape from the tiniest scraps.

You need to bring:

*Large Tweezers – not necessary but will make your experience much more enjoyable.

*Small rotary mat and small rotary cutter (28mm is functional)

*Small paint brushes for detail painting 10/0 and 1/8 angular

*Liquid Stitch or glue stick

*Black Ultra-fine Sharpie marker

*Note:  Do not feel you have to buy these if you don’t have them—what you have will be fine and I have extras we can share.  The tweezers are the most important to make it easier for you. There will be an ironing station set up.

5X7 picture frame or frame and mat with a 5x7 opening

Best known for her infectious passion for quilting, Patty Sawyer has been actively lecturing, instructing and judging in the quilting industry for more than 12 years. Patty’s whimsical approach and playful style of connecting with her students leads to unleashing inhibitions and revealing hidden talents. She delights sharing her expertise and abundant knowledge of shortcuts, tips, and tools to help enlighten and build confidence. Patty currently owns and operates Border 2 Border Quilting Studio and Sew-clusion Retreats, LLC in Sebago.

The Maine Driving Dynamics course is a driver improvement course that is aimed to improve a student’s defensive driving awareness and abilities. This five-hour course includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. Our goal is to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce vehicle-related crashes. The course may be taken for point reduction only once every 365 days. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record.

Meet Your Spirit Animal Guide

They walk with us throughout our lives. In this class you will learn about them, how to connect with yours, tap into their unique medicine (attributes) and be guided on a guided meditative journey to connect with yours!

Donna Shaw is a National Guild of Hypnotists Certified Hypnotherapist, Certified Past Life Regressionist (facilitator) Licensed HypnoBand® Practitioner, Usui and Kundalini Reiki Master/Teacher. Donna has been teaching Reiki, spiritual-metaphysical and self-hypnosis classes at local Maine Adult Education Centers and her office in Windham since 2012.
