We are partnering with our local businesses and other agencies to offer a unique Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program beginning in September, 2017. This CNA program will prepare you with the skills to become certified and trained as a CNA in the State of Maine. The course will also give you the opportunity to earn a WorkReady Credential, recognized by our State and many local employers. Successfully completing the WorkReady program requirements shows employers you possess the work readiness skills they value. You will have TWO credentials when you complete the program!

Students will learn skills to assist adults, children and infants in emergency situations. Students will receive an American Heart Association Adult CPR card in the mail upon completion. Class size is limited.

This course follows the CRMA standardized design as provided by the State of Maine, Division of Licensing & Regulatory Services, and Community Service Programs. The curriculum requires 35 - 40 hours of classroom time as well as a clinical component under the supervision of an R.N. instructor. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will obtain a certificate from the State of Maine and be certified to provide medication administration in the residential setting. Re-certification is required every 2 years. The registration fee includes all training materials. Class size is limited.

Basic first aid skills will be taught, including controlling bleeding, treating injuries to muscles, learning about bones and joints, heat and cold-related illness and sudden illness. Students will receive an American Heart Association first aid card in the mail upon completion. Class size is limited.
Pharmacy Technician Certificate program w/PTCB national certification

All Inclusive 14 week program.
Work One-On-One with a Pharmacy Technician Trainer and entirely online with support from a Pharmacy Technician and Trainer. The Pharmacy Technician is one of the fastest growing jobs in health care today. In this course, you will learn everything from the role of the technician in the pharmacy setting, to the basic sciences at the core of pharmacy practice, to preparing for the PTCB exam. You will learn complete drug information that includes proper name, spelling and pronunciation, drug class, generic and trade name, route of administration, dosage and more of hundreds of drugs. You will be able to identify pills on sight with pill photos, gain a better understanding of how certain drugs work within the body with a concise review of relevant anatomy and physiology, and stay up to date with cutting-edge pharmacy practice with the latest information on new drugs, regulations, HIPAA guidelines and safety procedures. You will be ready to pass your PTCB national certification included in cost. $1,850.00.

botomist is a vital member of the clinical laboratory team who obtains a patient’s blood specimens by venipuncture and micro collection for testing purposes. Phlebotomists are employed across the healthcare system. Classroom and lab work includes medical terminology, blood collection, procedures, specimen hands-on practice, and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. Learners must produce documentation of a recent medical physical examination conducted and signed by a physician, and the following vaccinations: Hepatitis B, MMR, Tetanus, Varicella, and TB. Class size is limited.
Students are responsible for purchasing book for class- "Phlebotomy Essentials 6th Editiion" by Ruth McCall and Cathee Tankersley.
